ONLINE LEARNING RESOURCES

LITERACY

Raz Kids – http://www.kidsa-z.com/main/Login     Students should complete the comprehension questions at the end of each story.

Epic (Literacy)
Choose books on a variety of topics.  This includes a 'Read to me' section for emergent readers.

Great news!  Fraser Valley Library just started offering e-cards for those who want to borrow their e-books and audiobooks online during the closure. Sign up is on this site: https://onlineregistration.fvrl.bc.ca

This might be an option for students to read on their own. The library often has a wait list for resources, and there are a limited number of loans for each one, so this isn’t ideal for a class novel study or book club but it is a great way to encourage students to read on their own during this time.

Numeracy/Math

*Prodigy – see instructions below (this is totally new to me as well but was recommended so thought we should try it out!)

Khan Academy (Numeracy)  This is a great site for searching how to approach a skill your child is needing support with.  For example:  If you type 'Addition with Regrouping' in the search, a helpful video will pop up for your child to view. You will need to sign up for this service but it is free.

  5. These trees eat salmon  ***This link didn’t work so just type in the name
Interative Games:
This may be difficult but well done so would probably need to be done with help.

https://www.scienceworld.ca/resource/life-salmon/ -   These again may be a bit challenging but some great resources or activities parents could do.

Ava Scott (she was in my class last year) mom has done up this fantastic website for anyone who wants to explore and learn more about the world!  Check it out and let me know what you think.  This could be someone’s Passion Project if they choose!
